Charles, Sam

I am searching for a good reason to invest long term. As you both pointed out, the intrinsic value is not an exact number and its calculation needs input that is at best speculative or unavailable. Therefore, it is not really a useful parameter (in my opinion).

Sam,

I didn't know that equity contracts have been approved for trading. How would one use futures to guess or estimate the price of a stock ? Aren't futures more speculative?

In the absence of any useful parameters, I generally rely on resistance/support lines for short term trading.

Would I get in trouble for saying " Intrinsic value of a stock is more of an academic exercise than a useful or practical tool"
