The Fed really does conduct that survey every three years. It's legit.

I wouldn't trust them to keep records from other agencies. Laws were only meant to followed by the private sector.

no, but they'll probably be shocked by what they find out. note that the Fed in its own consumer credit data to date does NOT include leasing (of cars, mainly). thus the size of the consumer debt is actually UNDERESTIMATED, as incredible as that may sound if one looks at the figures.
