i guess you've lost your engineers bearings on this one.

first of all, in american football, only the 40-yard is important.

i said nothing of endurance or other attributes.

i wrote only of (speed) burst and strength.

no other sport has these like american football.

some of the linemen are probably not as quick as soccer players, but they're the quickest 300-pounders around.

and when it comes to wide receivers and cornerbacks; don't kid yourself; the nfl has the highest quickness (40-yard dash) times of any sport.

if you don't believe me, go to a live (non-television) nfl game and you will see what i'm talking about. there is a lot of standing around, but when the ball is in play, there is no quicker team sport, except perhaps for that one with the horses or whatever.

name me one soccer player who runs a 4.3 40-yard and benches over 400 pounds. napoleon kaufmann of the nfl did that; i'm sure there are others as well; but only in american football.

i've heard that some of the international rugby players approach this quickness/strength ratio but somehow i doubt it. i would venture to say that professional rugby players are probably a bit 'tougher,' but with better endurance and not quite as much burst/strength combined.

one thing's for sure; if you compare by injury rates and types of injuries (severity), american football has them all beat there.

it's fine if you don't like me personally, but there is no need for you to turn to illogic with regards to american football versus soccer.
