I regret only one post and that had to do with eating margin clerks for breakfast.

Bill,

Excellent post. Well thought out and about time. I do have a comment:

You do not regret calling me a cementhead:-(?? <VVBG>

I would have at least preferred black top or something;-)

Excellent post...

I didn't take any credit for the advance, and I'm not taking blame for the decline.

LOL! It seems that several different boards on SI have individuals who are followed, and quite a few people appreciate their feedback on various ideas. I follow two different posters for their technical analysis of the overall market, and it is interesting that they seem to be criticized whenever the market doesn't follow their exact thoughts. No one has the ability to perfectly predict the market direction, as well as the specific companies that will be "the winners" in any given area. The market mood seems to be always changing, and it takes flexibility and a willingness to reevaluate this "mood" and "direction" IMO to be successful. Each one of us is responsible for our own decisions, and IMO it is wrong to blame anyone for our own decisions.

It wasn't easy..... but I can tell you without any hesitation that I am better player for it. That experience is part of my skill set now.

Surviving a difficult time is definitely painful...but usually the lessons learned make you much stronger. In so many areas, not just the stock market, this seems to be true.

Only a couple people here know the true extent of the gains I made and the drawdown I've had. Everyone has his own tolerance for risk and has varying financial and emotional envelopes.

I have never posted specific buy and sell orders, because IMO this information doesn't have any effect on anyone other than my own personal finances. As you mentioned, the tolerance for risk, and the various financial needs of everyone who posts here are different. It is hard for some people to emotionally watch large ups and downs in their net worths, which certainly would have been the case in the last two years holding a portfolio filled with technology companies.

I was in New Economy stocks shortly after the beginning low, in at the high, and still in at this year's low. I'm still here, and just like I was as a kid during the Summer of Love living in the in the Height, I am lucky to participate in the passion of these times.

I have always enjoyed following the technology companies, since I feel I've "lived" through the development of the Internet....and I have seen how it is constantly changing. But.....you lived in the Height?!? That is hard to believe!!! (somehow that just doesn't fit your image!).

It's not about winning or boasting, it's about growing and progressively wising up. Tops are just as humbling as bottoms.

IMO all of us have learned quite a lot about the "highs and lows" of this market over the last few years, and hopefully all of us will benefit from the knowledge we've gained from this experience. I appreciate the posters on SI who are always willing to offer their insights, and "feedback" in specific areas. IMO that is one of the best features of SI...and hopefully I have been able to grow and also remain flexible with some of my investment choices.

I'll continue to say what I believe, continue to share hunches and data points, continue to link opinion, and do all the things I have done for the past five years here. No apologies.

Great! Your feedback and "hunches" IMO have always given me some insights in the technology sector. I haven't always agreed with your thoughts, and just because you've posted your "buys", doesn't mean that I've bought the same thing. I appreciate the chance to bring up any company to gain some "feedback" from those who post here.

No problem guy. I'm done arguing about it, it's time to get back to the business at hand, which is making some dough.

I've got sort of an option strangle going on with NEM/HM. Any feelings you'd like to share on Au/Ag?
