I don't understand all that noise surrounding AOL monopoly over "You have mail" message. When I log into my unix system I get the message, "You have mail" if I had any mail and I am sure that for the last two decades or so it has not changed although I have been using unix maybe for little more than a decade or so. The point is AOL has no monopoly over this message because this is too old and it was being used long before AOL was born. This message was there long before the internet era.
