I've never seen any credible evidence linking Ashcroft to unjust discrimination or favoritism in an official capacity. Neither have I. And I'm not accusing him of favoritism. I'm accusing him of poor judgment in not proceeding judiciously. He's put himself in a position of giving the appearance of favoritism, at the very least, in an environment that has ethics guidance that requires him to avoid that appearance. Whether or not there's any favoritism or other illegal activity going on, I have no way of knowing. What has been reported would trigger an inquiry of some sort in any Federal agency. How the Justice Department will handle it, I have no clue. Karen
