AREM clarifies the situation - no smoking gun that I can see, just sloppy work by TSCM reporters (what a shock):

The key part of the release for me:

The reporters who quoted these persons never contacted AremisSoft to verify the accuracy of the information and might have unknowingly been part of some political process which they did not understand. As with any competitive bidding for a contract of such nature there are always several companies that lose the bid. In the US, the losing party to a federal government contract will often contest the contract award. In other parts of the world companies might lobby with personnel inside a governmental organization to push their case as well as leverage the local media.

This is 1000% accurate based on my experience in the Balkans and contract competitions in other non-First World countries.

Greenberg's "journalism" was sloppy, shallow, lazy and ill-informed about a company doing business in Eastern Europe. Greenberg and his staffer were played like a violin in a context they did not begin to grasp.

Now let's see if he has the balls to admit it.

Yes my numbers were understated:

AremisSoft also desires that investors put the Bulgarian Healthcare Contract in context of our overall business. According to Wall Street analyst estimates with which the Company remains comfortable, revenue for 2001 is expected to be in excess of $240.0 million while the Company anticipates that revenue from this contract in 2001 will be less than 5% of total revenue. We view our working relationship with the NHIF as a critical partnership because of our commitment to the citizens of Bulgaria to deliver the finest health information system in the world.
