Additionally, it is only on the desktop that Athlon will not be able to keep up. The mobile Barton should be able to keep up with even mobile P4 well into 2003.

I'm not sure I agree there... AMD is two process transitions away from Barton at this point (first vanilla 0.13 then 0.13 SOI) whereas Intel is already starting their 0.13 micron ramp. I think the Barton will be a decent value processor in the mobile space, but I'm not convinced it's going to keep up with mobile P4 on the trailing edge of 0.13 micron (2H 02) and the leading edge of 0.10 micron (1H 03 est.)
