It took me 12 evening to build plus a week in a boiler room to cure the adhesive.

I used commercial string as it was based on a Bear Kodiak.

When I went to Germany in the army I had it shipped over to hunt the big hares. My dad shipped it with no string so I made one out of Dental Floss. 12 winds from tip to tip and then wrapped it with floss. Worked fine. I still have the retired bow.

Back in those days we shot cedar arrows. You had to get the grain right, then glue on the turkey feathers, bend a wire and heat it to trim the feathers, the heat from a battery burned the feathers and sealed them. Hand sharpen an arrow head and go hunting. No sights, no pulleys. I got a deer with that home made rig.
