that's your solution to everything.

That's NOT my solution... It's the reality.

Arafat continues to espouse the destruction of Israel when he's chanting to his crowds in Arabic. Yet, you don't see Israelis chanting about wiping out the Palestinians.

You have Palestinians using the West Bank and Gaza as a base to launch mortar attacks against Israelis. This, in turn, breeds a violent response by the IDF.

Eventually one side or the other is going to realize that there has been enough violence. But for now, it's a battle of wills and the Israelis have brought in their most hawkish general turned politician, Ariel Sharon, to take the battle directly to the Palestinian militants.

And I find it hilarious how you make that "subtle" play on words about that Jewish "migration" from their Arab homes. It sounds as if you actually believe all of those Oriental Jews put a listing out for their homes, and held a yard sale to sell off the rest of their property.

Why not just call it a "Jewish Holiday" with a one way trip ticket to the Jewish homeland??

That's 800,000 people we're talking about. 800,000 peoplem, the majority of which, had their lives forcibly disrupted and forced to flee to Israel with whatever they could carry in their luggage. People who DID NOTHING TO THEIR ARAB HOST NATION... People who seldom, if ever, rioted, threw stones, or launched mortars against Arabs.

So if you're going to constantly emphasize the "badness" of the Israelis, it might help if you acknowledge the "badness" of the Arab dictators and hegemonists who have openly claimed they would destroy an entire people and nation at their first opportunity. (and I would challenge you to point out one Arab nation that Israel has threatened to destroy forever).

I know I'm not personally inclined to like governments who insist on trying to destroy us. And I'm certainly not inclined to feel sorry for a bunch of extremists/terrorists who wouldn't blink an eye about putting a bullet through the brain of the first American or Israeli they saw.

...yet that oppression of the Jews is used as a justification for the threatened survival of the Israeli state.

Let me give you a hint... Israel's survival isn't a threat. It's a promise. And they have the nuclear firecrackers to ensure that anyone who messes with them will suffer an equal, if not more brutal fate.

The bottom line is Israel is engaged in war. And as with all wars, whether low, mid, or high intensity, the killing ends when all sides find they have more to lose than to gain by continuing to fight.

And for the Israelis, the election of Sharon was a clear sign that they have had enough of playing games with Arafat and his Fatah/Hamas cronies. And what will likely happen is that Israel will probably erect a fence between the PA and Israel and shut down the borders to all of those Palestinian laborers who rely upon Israeli jobs.

And they will probably shut down the water and electricity as well. Then Arafat will finally have to concentrate on how he's going to feed, power, and govern the Palestinian Authority, rather than stirring up trouble with the Jews.

Maybe he'll even be forced to open up those secret bank accounts where he has squirreled away hundreds of millions, and spend the money on building the economy in the PA.
