Laurie,

Great analysis - I'd like to see an analyst issue a report entitled "The Itchy and Scratchy Show". It might lend them some long overdue credibility... ;^>

I think your viewpoint could be extended through a lot of the telecom shakeout - everyone is pressing as hard as they can to see how much blood they can squeeze out - it started with the bond market (which now seems to be more receptive to first and second tier issues) and is running right through from the operators to the integrators to the suppliers. One big squeeze. It's a good test of everyone's relative strength in their respective food chains.

The operators that survive will definitely gain a lot of power over the suppliers - that's a big change from the last couple of years when demand was high and noone could produce enough. The suppliers that last will gain economies and reduced competition. Who are the survivors?

Regards, Rob
