Barb, I found the discussion on convertibles informative. It was shocking for me to read that such a destructive scheme could exist, and I'm surprised that the prospectus could be approved by the regulators. Confirms once again that when it comes to investing, caveat emptor is the operative phrase. Thanks for the references to Cramer's articles.

As for longs or shorts, I believe both views belong on this thread. Knowing both sides of a story will only help independent investors make more informed decisions. People could tend to regard stocks as relationships, and link feelings of fidelity and honour to the holdings. However, the truth is, stocks are mere vehicles in this game we play to rack in more gains than losses. At $15, I think GX is a strong buy, given the quality of its assets, its management, and the potential to generate future cash flows. At $30, I may think differently, even though I continue to feel much love for the people on this thread.
