"We feel we have something that will appeal to everyone," said Packers President Bob Harlan. "We want this to be a community celebration; a community thank-you to all the people who supported the renovation of Lambeau as well as the Brown County taxpayers who are making this possible." Among the highlights of the one-hour groundbreaking program, which will begin at 10:30 a.m.: * Entertainment by the Preble and West De Pere High School Bands as well as the UW-Green Bay cheerleaders * A flag presentation by the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. (The Girl Scouts are from the Denmark Service Unit of the Lac Baie Council Villages. The Boy Scouts are Troop #1113 sponsored by St. John the Baptist Church in Howard.) * Welcome from Governor Scott McCallum * General Manager Ron Wolf's last public appearance as a member of the Packers * Comments from Packers GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman * Appearances by current Packers players LeRoy Butler, Ahman Green, Ryan Longwell and Bill Schroeder * Comments from Packer great Bart Starr * A special presentation to the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame by Packer Hall of Famer Dave Robinson * A four-phase groundbreaking of a sand sculpture replica of Lambeau Field. The lead-off groundbreaking team will represent the Packers' past, present and future: Bart Starr and Dave Robinson; Butler, Green, Longwell and Schroeder; and two 11 year old Green Bay youngsters, Cory Jansa and Lacey Van Zeeland. The youngsters submitted the winning entries in an essay contest which for the opportunity to be part of the first groundbreaking team. They also received a player jersey of their choice (to be autographed at a later date), four tickets to a Packers home game and introductions at the game.
