I am just curious as to how a donut can be soft and crispy at the same time? I mean I have eaten a few (say hundreds)of donuts in my time but very few soft crispy ones. Used to get a whole wheat donut in Aspen when I lived there and did the ski bum thing. It was a little crispy but more soft. Am anxiously awaiting a store opening in my area.
I prefer maple bars but not too picky. IMO the sweeter the better. I was watching the business news last night and there was an old codger standing on a NY street corner passing out Krispy Kreme donuts in celebration of it's Wall Street debut. He had on one of those paper hats with points on both ends and a smile on his face as long as Broadway. ;-) M
