Ok, if that's history, but why? Doesn't seem intuitive.

Their exports will become more expensive if the dollar falls. They'll also be exporting less if the US economy continues to weaken. Why are the other factors such as a stronger currency so much more positive to spur big gains in their stock markets? What happened to emerging markets during the 30's?
