The Florida Supreme Court's last decision was so obviously faulty and slanted they were bitterly criticized in public by their own chief judge. It was a no-brainer for the USSC to overturn them, as they did, 7-2. After that, the whole matter was right in their own lap and they took one of the few rational looks at it. The attempted fraud by the Clinton/Gore Nazi machine was so obvious that it couldn't help but drag 5 justices into deciding against them, despite the USSC's traditional aversion to getting involved in such things. The left doesn't talk about the obscenity rendered by the state court-because it's inconvenient to the myth they are attempting to perpetrate. The plaintiff lawyers committed a lot of resources and political capital to the cause of keeping the C/G Nazis in power. The implications of that failure for them are yet to be seen, but hopefully they will be politically devastated for many election cycles to come.
