A house down the road was built with the damage award from the husband being hit while riding his bike. It was in the evening and the driver of the car was westbound and couldn't see the biker for the glare. It was a 2 lane road with no shoulder so he was riding the bike in a traffic lane. Still rides the same road. Last year I saw a young woman skating along a 6 lane main artery. She wasn't very skilled and kept drifting into traffic. She didn't get killed so some angel was working overtime.

You have described our little island in the summer. All these bike tour operators bring these middle aged youth-wanna-bes on tours of the San Juans. You come across hoards of them strung out along the little two lane winding hilly road weaving all over and it is almost impossible to get past them. I've been late for dinner more times because of those jerks. The only good thing is that they give lots of profitable business to our medical center.
