Mike,

I believe that the 4000 prediction is nonsense. I don't think this rally will get to 2900 before the end of the year, if at all. In any case, semi-equips' and other tech capital equipment suppliers' business will suffer most. I was cautioning against shorting in the short term.

CAUTION FLAG

I am enjoying this unexpected, for me, move up. Cash and stock positions are both growing and I will continue to sell into strength, keeping at least 50% stock in the brokerage accounts.

I am not certain when or if I get my prices, but I am very concerned that, if and when I get them, I will be very sorry to have made those seemingly low price purchases. I believe that there is a reasonable chance that the comparisons to the 1929 crash and its aftermath and the Japanese deflation will become justified.

I am not trying to be an alarmist and you all know what I have been doing in the market and with what % of my net and liquid assets. I am advocating caution and prudence because many have only seen various levels of exhuberance and are starting to believe that they are getting in on the mother of all buying opportunities.
