JimL,

I'm not sure who the "gold is dead" people are (I'm sure there are some, though), but I put myself in the camp that views with a wary eye all the things you need to believe to invest in gold (invest is incorrect, "speculate" or simply "bet" is correct). There are many things I won't make a fortune on: trading lumber, trading orange juice futures, playing shortstop in MLB, and playing the rises and falls in gold. It's never been a "gold is dead" argument but rather a "gold is not for me" statement.

Congratulations to all those who have speculated in gold and seen their accounts rise, special congratulations to those who are quick enough to take profits before they vanish.
