At the shareholders' meeting last month, Jerry reportedly said that there would be advertising in the 4th quarter (edit: or maybe 3rd quarter, I work for the government and get quarters screwed up sometimes) this year. I hope it's better than the train commercial.

Lynn, AMD has announced that they will have an ad campaign soon. Others might remember the details, but I suspect it will start in late summer for the back-to-school season. I just scanned the Q1 conference call and didn't see anything about advertising.

AMD doesn't need an advertising campaign because they're selling everything they make. I would rather they put the money into R&D.
