Tim, while in no way do I league myself with OPEC, that article is another example of the US thinking it can tell the world what to do with its court system :).. um... ever hear of countries soverignty? heh heh

As for this statement you made :
"If they don't the price will go up a bit but I don't think Canada is one of the world's top oil exporters. I might be wrong about that. I couldn't find the percentage of the world's oil supply that was produced by Canada on a quick
google search. Do you know?"

Well I came across this statement in a GLobe and Mail article commenting on the Bush plan:

" The Bush plan appears to be mostly good news for Canada, however, which is already the largest supplier of oil, natural gas and electricity to the United States. Mr. Bush said Thursday he wants to enhance that trade......

.The report hails Canada's “sustainable development-based energy strategies” as a plus for theNorth American economy and environment. ( Author EDIT: Thanks for the praise, Why cant the US president preside over developing a US sustainable development based energy strategy? They clearly havent for a long time)

It also highlights Canada's vast untapped supplies of natural gas and heavy oil sands, and
directs U.S. federal agencies to work closely with Canada, Alaska and “interested parties” to
speed construction of a long-planned pipeline to bring natural gas to the lower 48 states.

Canada already sells more than $30-billion worth of energy per year to the United States. It
fills 9 per cent of U.S. oil needs and 15 per cent of natural gas consumption. B.C. Hydro has
been a major supplier of emergency power to California in recent months.

BTW.. I loved that Greenpeace stunt yesterday that dumped all that fake coal and oil drums outside the Vice Presidents home.. beautiful publicity.
