Took a small short on VLNC just b4 close. Didn't like half the day's volume going thru in 5 mins followed by a price drop. Looks like distribution.

Zeev, a quarterly report is due out soon from VLNC, and rumors have better earnings than anticipated, due in part, I suspect, to taking IDB money as a reduction in cost of goods, per a previous press release. Also, the new CEO (who came from Dell's laptop division, which would have had a good handle on battery company capabilities) and the Samsung licensing deal may be adding to VLNC's credibility.

So, as usual, the run-up in VLNC's share price either reflects improvements in the company's position, or an unjustified anticipation of improvements in the company's position. Take your choices and place your bets.

Zeev: Just did an overlay of the VXN as compared to the NDX on my chart software. Today the VXN collapsed. It is at its lowest level since September of last year right at a market top. Much the same could be said of the VIX too when overlaid against the S & P 500. It could stay here for a bit and even trend lower. I think there was a spike down to 40 then and that was all she wrote. But one would expect we would have had a good sized rally at this juncture in the Nasdaq. But we are still under 2250 although there are so many option undercurrents that it is hard to tell what is real and what has been manufactured. I think there may be some juice next week but it seems somewhat suspect after that.

NYA had some nice tick days. Today did not get above 1000.

I think you once said some time ago that if we did not go to 1850 before 2250 or above, that such a move would be a set up for a nice decline. I think this scenario is still in play. What are your thoughts now?

Zeev, although you said you weren't looking for it, looks like a squeeze underway on SCON. Picked some up today.
