UF, I don't look at the loss and do look at the 37%. I wrote that for the beginners because the first couple of times it happens it is a shock.

On the other hand I have had a hard time explaining to my wife that it really was a smart thing to do i.e. giving up $9 and making $7

Id and I talk a lot (I'm his shrink), and we've come to the conclusion that being a covered call writer is like being a pugalist. Even the greatest champions take some hard shots in every fight they wage - even against stumble bums. Getting hit once in a while is just the price of making all that easy money.
