Zeev: Just did an overlay of the VXN as compared to the NDX on my chart software. Today the VXN collapsed. It is at its lowest level since September of last year right at a market top. Much the same could be said of the VIX too when overlaid against the S & P 500. It could stay here for a bit and even trend lower. I think there was a spike down to 40 then and that was all she wrote. But one would expect we would have had a good sized rally at this juncture in the Nasdaq. But we are still under 2250 although there are so many option undercurrents that it is hard to tell what is real and what has been manufactured. I think there may be some juice next week but it seems somewhat suspect after that.

NYA had some nice tick days. Today did not get above 1000.

I think you once said some time ago that if we did not go to 1850 before 2250 or above, that such a move would be a set up for a nice decline. I think this scenario is still in play. What are your thoughts now?

RE: VXN at 52 week low - Today's VXN NOT even close to 52 week low!

Low was 40.56 in early September 2000 - see chart:

wstera_02,

More on VXN: It's interesting that extreme low values in VXN may have a long lead time before a market correction. For example look at this 2 year chart when VXN bottomed at 34.56 in early Nov'99 after "ideling" at low levels from July'99 to Nov'99.

Hi Tim! Hope you're kicked back with the door open, having a nice breeze come through there, and watching the humming birds buzz by.

Beautiful day here. Warming up fast, though. Going to be hotter and humidity is up a bit.

Heading for the hammock at poolside and ponder making money next week.
