John, as per George Slezaks site the commercial COT's are net short -13915 gold contracts as of 5/15/01, vs last weeks position of 17247 net long.
Small speculators are now at a 1 year record net long position of 12384 contracts

News Release

Mr. Donald Sheldon reports

Pure Gold has reached an agreement with Canaccord Capital Corporation for a
special warrant private placement to raise $525,000. Canaccord will use its
commercially reasonable efforts to place 3.5 million special warrants at a
price of 15 cents per special warrant. Each special warrant will consist of
one share and half of one warrant to purchase one additional common share.
Each full warrant will entitle the holder to purchase one additional common
share at a price of 17.5 cents per share within one year from the closing
date. Canaccord will be entitled to a commission of 7.5 per cent of the
gross proceeds payable in cash and agent's warrants equal to 10 per cent of
the number of special warrants sold on closing on the same terms as the
client's warrants. An administration fee of $5,000 plus GST will be paid to
Canaccord.
Directors and insiders have agreed to purchase up to one half of this
offering.
The company will use the proceeds of this financing to finance exploration
on the Buffalo Hills project in Northern Alberta, as well as its
exploration on the Northwest Territories and Nunavut properties. The
foregoing private placement is subject to regulatory approval.
