Or price/performance gap...and its implication for equal or greater price/performance gap in server and workstation segments!!! Two statements by Mr. Sanders at the SSB conference stick waaaaay out...Athlon 4 (i.e palomino) is a "clean kill" product and AMD's "cost structure" is lower than INTC's!!! Some think Mr. Sanders is exaggerating by making these 2 statements...Almost everyone thought Mr. Sanders' game plan for the Athy would never get off the ground when outlined 2-1/2 years ago and almost everyone second-guessed Mr. Sanders' foresight in building Dresden, and just recently voted factory of the year...It'll be very interesting even 6 months out to review the perceptions as the exist today around Mr. Sanders most recent "clean kill" and "lower cost structure" statements...My guess is that they prove every bit as accurate as has his Athy plan and Dresden foresight!!! The combination of "clean kill" palomino products and "lower cost structure" is a potentially near lethal blow to the competition, if true!!!
