BIODIESEL

Southern States Power Company's OXYG B-60 Biodiesel Fuel Production and Distribution:

Clearly a key component of the SSPC's vision for future profits, is its commitment to the production and distribution of alternative "clean air and renewable" fuels, responding to the escalating market demand for such products worldwide. By investing early on the identification and testing of new technologies for production of alternative fuels, SSPC is now positioned, through various acquisitions and joint ventures, to produce and deliver OXyG B-60 Biodiesel fuel which now has significant and immediate market demand.

SSPC has reached a custom processing and distribution agreement with a Florida biodiesel manufacturer, NOPEC Corporation (www.NOPEC.com), that will allow production of up to 5 million gallons of OXyG B-60 Biodiesel fuel using used vegetable waste oils and greases from major fast food companies such as McDonalds Corporation. SSPC has identified other sites across the U.S. where modular unit with similar capacity can process used waste vegetable oils and greases resources into OXyG B-60 Biodiesel fuels.

Market introduction is being coordinated with engine and fuel certification that demonstrates that OXyG B-60 Biodiesel fuel can achieve substantially higher emission reductions versus competing biodiesel fuels.

This has involved into major fuel testing effort at an independent California Air Resources Board (CARB) approved laboratory to obtain CARB approved fuel guidelines and certification of OXyG B-60 Biodiesel fuel for the California market.

This was accomplished in conjunction with the California Alternative Fuels and Energy Foundation (CAFÉ) and the University of California at Riverside College of Engineering Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT), with strong ties to South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) and CARB regulatory decision-makers.

Testing has confirmed that particulate reductions up to 30% can be achieved from a 20% OXyG B-60 Biodiesel mixed with 80% petroleum diesel. SSPC has also developed mechanisms to reduce oxides of nitrogen (Nox) that will be included in any marketing efforts associated with OXyG B-60 Biodisel fuels. Heavy-duty Truck, bussess and off-road highway equipment operators will now be able to use the CARB approved OXyG B-60 Biodiesel to meet alternative fuels or emission standard requirements.

OXyG B-60 Biodiesel has the same basic power and fuel economy as petroleum diesel.
New incentives and regulations are just now going into effect in California and the U.S. that allow a mixture of 20% OXyG B-60 Biodiesel and 80% petroleum diesel to qualify as an alternative fuel. The fleet market in the U.S. affected by alternative fuels exceeds 8 million vehicles when fully implemented.

Now, over 600,000 vehicles are affected. Including 75% of federal fleets, 50% of state fleets and 90 % of utility fleets.

The same regulations in the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21) Federal Highway Bill that President Clinton signed into law last June provides $198 billion in funding for surface transportation projects over the next six years with strong incentives to off-road highway heavy duty equipment operators to use OXyG B-60 Biodiesel as an alternative fuel to gain bid preferences for highway contracts. They will also benefit from the avoidance of shut-down requirements if using petroleum diesel.
Trucking companies can avoid $5000 fines for on-road black smoke (opacity) violations. Fleets affected by Energy Policy Act of 1992 (EPAct) alternative fuels fleet requirements can meet vehicle purchase regulations with the use of just 20% OXyG B-60 Biodiesel and 80% petroleum diesel.

Key Advantage: SSPC will market OXyG B-60 Biodiesel at a price substantially below the competition by producing OXyG B-60 Biodiesel fuel primarily from used vegetable waste oils and greases. In addition to responding to increasing worldwide pressures for cleaner burring fuels, SSPC's OXyG B-60 Biodiesel enhances diesel engine performance. Now that OXyG B-60 Biodiesel is commercially available these products should quickly capture significant market share.

The most important advantage of OXyG B-60 Biodiesel is that it can be substituted for petroleum diesel without modifying the engine and provides immediate reduction in particulate and carbon monoxide (CO) considered harmful to the environment.

Don't know for sure, but quite possible that a whack of stuff was converted....probably yesterday and today....and maybe even a pile sold. Hard to say for sure.
