quite right...unaffordable electricity is what we've got, and probably deserve...-g-. funny enough, even once generation capacity is back up to scratch, there's no chance that prices will return to pre-crisis levels. because the new generation capacity will put more upward pressure on NG and coal prices. the chain reaction you describe is already set in motion...with lots of copper and aluminum smelters on care and maintenance due to the electricity price spikes.
