RE:"WRT Intel's 0.13 production capacity, it seems like this is being committed to all fronts: notebook, low-power server, P4, and desktop Tualatins (?)."

Makes sense. Those are all higher margin chips...

RE:"This seems like a pretty wide front for a new and only gradually expanding process. I don't think the X-Box will need 0.13 micron chips anytime soon unless MS plans an aggressive product cycle, perhaps moving everyone to a Win-XP derivative?"

I think this depends on the cooling. I've been told that the Coppermine @733 will cool find with passive.
I know that a game console can't have a loud fan blasting away in the background...especially if you are watching a DVD...Maybe they have a small fan like a notebook..???
Anyone know?
That's what makes me wonder if Intel promised Tualatin to Microsoft for the XBOX...

Heck, maybe the Coppermine will cool sufficiently at 733 without a fan, with a big heat sink? Mani might have a guess...
