I seem to recall that the $48.50 high ($97 back then) was kind of ephemeral. I think it was set in after-hours trades and the NYSE high was well below that. Yahoo data shows a high of 95.4375 and the closing high was 95, both on 21-June-00, so I think the $48.50 ($97) number is kind of bogus. The correct 52-week high is $47.72

Thank goodness everyone stopped using those spurious after-hours trades as the official "closing price."
