Coool !!

We just need 10 - 20%/year inflation rates so that salaries soar to make the cost of oil appear cheap - just like under Carter - in the late 1970s.

OT Hi Scumbria, RE: "Those who advocate drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to meet current needs are careful to conceal the facts that almost none of the electricity in energy-troubled California is generated from oil."

One thing a person can say is, Carter is an ethical and honest person. It's too bad DOE's head is Bush's buddy because (for those that don't know how gov depts work) this essentially means Bush's agenda will go ahead without any factual counter investigation by DOE. No checks and balance. Only those research reports that back the administration are allowed to be performed, and they must back the agenda of the current administration in power - this is true no matter whether the party in power is Dem or Rep (unless the head isn't too buddy buddy, which is why I said it is a shame they are so buddy buddy). Thus, no checks and balance. Again, this is true even if Dems were in power - this is the way the system work. Thus, the only hope this country has for a balance of truthful information would be through some incredibly motivated investigative journalists.

If you have a chance, could you please search for a post I think I did that outlined the % growth in elec consumption and please let me know by PM?

Regards,
Amy J
