Please add up the costs of hardware, storage, DSL line, IT staff

Everytime I went to Best buy or Circuit City or whatever PC vendor store. I always ask my self why don't they hook them up onto the internet, not even for demo.

Arun gera:

But I don't see wireless LANs useful when I am walking in my neigborhood or driving on a highway.

I have never stated that WLAN technology will replace the need for Wireless Data Mobility products based on Q CDMA.. What I have stated is that WLAN technology, along with the CDMA Modem Card, has GREATLY REDUCED the potential future royalty revenue base, and Chip sales of QCOM Technology.

For a Stand Alone WLAN network!! Mine has been online for about 1 1/2 Years... (I bought Apple's Airport the week it came out).. It took 15 minutes to get set up, and I would not have touched it in the last year, if it were not for the fact that I updated it to the latest Apple Firmware that supports PPPOE.

You don't need IT staff to run a WLAN network.. IMO.. There are companies that already provide these services..

"Yes. Starbucks will provide you access. They will make it up in the coffee. "

And Airports will provide you access. so that you route your flight through their Airport versus another who does not have the ability.. Do you realize how much money Airports make on those XF fee $3 added to the bottom of your ticket.. If you transfer via DFW instead of Ohare.. DFW gets the XF fee not Ohare.. As you can imagine.. You can understand the economics of it!!

Wal-Mart can maybe do without one additional Customer Service person.. Because customers can use their PDA to locate a product, without making a "employee" walk them over to it's location.. etc..

If you can justify it for Starbucks.. You can justify it for almost any retail location..

Again, these are all applications that I envisioned (in 1998) as being able to use QCOM technology.. Now replaced by WLAN.
