milo, a week ago I commented on the March edition of the April 2001 edition of the "Rev Guide," or bug list for the Athlon.

Also, stepping A9 is the first one with a CPUID change, it is now x'644, prior steppings were X'642. Can someone confirm that 0644=AXIA?

Someone responded that AXIA was still x'642 CPUID, and I just tested my own, it is a X'642. So I suspect that the stepping in the Rev Guide is either the Palomino, or it is this new stepping with code "AVIA" on the package.

I hope x'644 is the Palomino. Maybe the AVIA fixes the bugs I listed in my previous post: Message 15803699

Bugs are bad, even if we have 1/10th at many as P4 or P3.
