I hope you don't think I was making the argument that we can take care of the CA problem by drilling in the ANWR. I think if the ANWR has vast oil resources then we should find smart ways of taking them so that we can better avoid seeing CA's problem all over the nation. But it is no immediate solution for CA.

I accept that CA's problem is largely political, but it is also a literal energy problem. You see, supply is really being withheld for some reason, and so prices are very high as a result. To lower prices we must work to make the business environment more hospitable to suppliers. CA has been unwilling to really do that in the past. And now it suffers, as well it should.
