it comes from Stockcarts.com,and was the only site i could find that provided historical quotes beyond this year,as all other start only with the beginning of this year,which is no help.max

they are re-constructed by cboe based on closing quotes on the options therefore no intraday data. cboe only introduced vxn this year.

the absolute numbers not meaningful enough. what is more important to me is to use a 20 ema and see the deviation.

a 20% deviation seems to be the turning point.

late aug 2000, 01/23/01 and last friday, vxn has reached 20% deviation from its 20 ema fwiw.
