Well you tried to become a Naval Aviator What happened? Did you flunk out? Naw, you probably got sidelined by all of those sophisticated systems you were involved in single-handedly designing. What's the real scoop pooper trooper?

<<Actually, I tried to become a Naval Aviator, what have you ever done?>> December 18th, 1969, I had a college deferment and I had just drawn #264 in the draft lottery in a county that never went over 50%. I got to thinking about other boys serving and it would be unfair for me not to. I volunteered for the draft. Got two weeks leave, rode the train to Chicago on New Year's Day. Got sworn in the next day and went to Fort Leonard Wood for basic training. Did my two years plus 4 in the reserves and got my DD 214, that's an honorable discharge for those of you who criticize President Bush but never got one.
