to be here now as the Solon we all know and love.
(you have already come a long way, baby ...we all have)

Thank you, Mars--but many despise me for despising their ideas. Myself--I don't despise people. People are what they think, and thinking can change. In that sense we can all be teachers.

I don't know anything about the soul. I think people are immensely valuable and wonderful without one. If there is some sort of spirit body--perhaps that would bring justice to this system. This would suppose, however, an underlying intelligence (not necessarily the way we understand the term). There have been introspective times when I actually thought I had "proved" a universal force. My idea of such a force would be nothing like an alpha male with a sword, however. And a guaranteed eternity with guaranteed anything holds no appeal for me. The end of struggle and significant choice (the end of values)--would certainly be the end of all meaning--the end of all existence (at least under the parameters that most people on earth consider meaningful life).

That which exists (you and me) continue to take new forms. The only thing lost is self identity. In that sense, everything is God; although, the term "God" contaminates the concept by common and contradictory usage.

If you have read the nature of things by Lucretius you will know what I mean. ANY group on earth claiming to have a blueprint from God--I reject (the blueprint, I mean!).
