Hi NightOwl; Dave B's idea of being intimately connected with the valley is to have them give him friends and family shares so that he can then go pump their stock on Silicon Investor without bothering to tell anyone of his position.

This is my favorite Dave B post: #reply-15390582 , because in this single post he admits the following:

(1) He had an inside connection to INAP management but posted bullish comments on their thread without informing anyone of this.
(2) When he posted that he was holding the stock, it was actually his wife who was holding it.
(3) He wanted to sell it while he was posting that he was "holding" it, but his wife wouldn't do it.
(4) He got his shares under the "friends and family" plan and didn't have to pay the price that it first traded at, but he didn't tell anyone on SI that his cost basis was lower than that of people who weren't "intimately connected".
(5) He didn't really care about the position because it was so small, but he nevertheless posted that he was still "holding", presumably to influence others to hold as well.

The funny thing about all this is that Dave B has such an absence of moral maturity that he never realized that he had done anything wrong. I guess that explains his failure to realize that what Rambus did with respect to SDRAM was FRAUDULENT.
