I confess to not having spent a lot of time reading it.

My basic response was what my mother told me many, many years ago:

"You can hear anything you've a mind to."

There are people who deny the Holocaust, too. And with stronger evidence than, with what I read there, he denies the dangers of smoking. I've lost too many good friends to smoking to have much sympathy for arguments of its benignity. (If that is the correct form of benign to use here.)

OTOH, I think people have a right to smoke if they want to, just as long as they don't impose their smoke on me. Just as I have a right to play the bagpipes, but not in a crowded restaurant or in a cubicle in an office building.
