" are there exact rules in having a sold call expire at the "strike"

RS... the change to decimalization seems to have changed the rules. Last month I had stuff called away that was one cent in the money and once cent out of the the money.

It would be my preference to to be called out at the strike as stocks have a history of a lower open on the Monday following options expiration. Even a small correction is likely to begin this week so what you lose at $55.00 (AMAT) you can buy back around $52.00 per share.

I had a broker friend of mine call the trading floor to find out what would be called out in situations like this, and the response was they did not have any idea. (First Union Securities).

Now all that being said.....and all the experts predicting a modest pullback...it probably will not happen.

Regards, Jerome

Rick,

I still have amat shares in my account. The shares were not called away. Now I have Nvls and Amat in this account and planning to write more covered calls pretty soon. I am looking to buy mxim and lltc in the near future. I have some mxim and lltc in my trading account which I bought last week around 51. I am looking for a $5 dollar call profit on amat and NVLS (That will be about 10% of my original purchase). The questions is wether it will be June 55's or June 60's. Haven't figured out yet.

Regards.
