Joel, I just checked with my wife (a world authority on soaps), and yes you are watching that crap -g-. NOW, there is a series that hasn't been shown in the USA as far as I know. It has one of the biggest cult followings out there. It's called Rab C Nesbit. He is the Scottish version of Daisey's husband and he is unemployed, lives in Govan. I have watched every program several times. It is magnificent. Even the folks down in England like it, and they don't even understand most of what he saying. (He uses a lot of Scottish colloquialism). One of the best things UK Tee Vee has ever done. Once you get to understand the lingo, the humor is razor sharp. I am sure it would sell abroad, but sub titles are probably necessary. pearly.
