Coffee is diferent, IMHO. Food is very expencive in PARIS, especially meat so MCD had a good market to sell to. There is literly a Coffe house on every other corner in Paris, they are the mecca of social interaction in France. In the US we never had these, and in many ways SBUX has become that meeting place in many comunities. Coffee like rice in Japan and tea in England is like a religion. Can Sbux open a few stores, yes, can they roll out stores like they do in the states? NO WAY. I think ASIA is a far better market for them. I still think SBUX is a ridiculously overvalued stock.
