My take on gold now:

A real gold bull market has begun. No flash in the pan.

This bull still is young and has much further to go.

But even genuine gold bulls are punctuated by sharp corrections of 10-15% in the gold stock indexes. That was the case in 1993.

The best way to determine when such a pullback may commence is not to set specific targets but watch the relative action of gold and the gold stocks. When the gold stocks begin to dramatically underperform bullion, the odds are that a significant correction in the gold complex is close at hand. The top of the powerful fall 1999 run in gold and gold stocks was marked by a huge jump in gold prices not confirmed by gold stocks.
