Dave

The day will come also when the US has a nuclear waste disposal site at Yucca Mountain and the tenor of discussion will favor nuclear power. It will be thought of as "clean", "efficient", and economically stable ($.03 per kWh vs.$.03-.04 for natural gas at today's prices). Many of the plants CA has seized, which will include the subsidized QF's, will be non-competitive and taxpayers will still be on the hook.

Two items hold back nuclear in CA, the law that a plant cannot be sited without a disposal site (like Yucca Mountain) for the high level waste and a new nuclear reprocessing facility proposed by S.472 (Nuclear Energy Electricity Supply Assurance Act) Sen. Domenici (New Mexico).

Earthquake siting problems and water usage are other considerations that will have to be solved

Rolling over and playing dead isn't one of my favorite roles. If the energy cartels wish to unfairly gauge the people of this state then they can go find another victim. I am in favor of FAIR and open markets.......what we have in CA is not an open marketplace.

Dave, remember we are taking about the dumber than dirt vacant liberal minds. I think that they should be encouraged to <<seize the power generators>>

Think of it as, The Crispy critters solutions.
