You're sad when you're perpetually bogging down every thread you post on with sanctimonious Christian Nation moralizing, but that's life.

As I understand it , Ashcroft is a Pentecostal ....

This intrigues me , as it is the focus
of these congregations ( from Buddhist=Sangha)
is to try and merge (so to speak)
and seek the experience of the Epiphany(from Hindu=Samadhi)
of the Apostles ? And to be filled with
the Holy Spirit?

As I understand this sect , the Pentecostals have
rejected the belief of many
fundamentalists that God had
ceased to reveal himself to man...

Like the Quakers , this sounds like one
sect of Christianity that might
be interesting to know
more about .

They are trying to awaken the "spirit" in America
and an appeal to "faith"...it is not
the most terrible of things , but didn't
work out to well for Billy Graham
with Nixon.<g>

Bush is a Texas President obliging & seeking praise with the easiest constituency...but he has
a very rough road ahead.

Interesting to see how this plays out...the country
is in very bad shape here , and could see a
and "U" shaped recovery or a complete
economic collapse and retest lows once again by
next fall .

Revivals in spirituality seem to come in cycles
just before impending societal and economic
upheavals...we are not out of this one yet.

Ashcroft is a sign of the times...almost predictable.
