Re: Dell Free memory

Thanks, Gene.

Here's the link extracted from the script to save time:
dell.com

It appears to apply to anything they sell (and any kind of memory). They must be getting pretty anxious to move inventory.

Regards,

Dan

Gene, aside from the memory deal, which is pretty good (the 256 meg upgrade to 512 works out to $150, about equal to low pricewatch price for PC800), I note that the marginal cost for the 1.7 p4 vs. 1.5 is $30. The 1.7 P4 is down to $343 on pricewatch, which is $9 below Intel q1000 list, but the 1.5 is $100 cheaper there.

I thought the listing at configure.us.dell.com was quite a cheezy piece of work in terms of defaults. In addition to the "free" memory upgrade requiring a modification, there was a straight $100 off checkbox than wasn't on by default either. Caveat emptor, I guess.
