Re: With now widespread reports of instability and frequent crashes of P4 systems

Yes, it's a real shame.

But consider, their specifications show that they consume up to 110 watts under load, and they become unstable unless kept at least 20 degrees cooler than normal Intel CPUs, so what else was to be expected?

Elmer, "With now widespread reports of instability and frequent crashes.."

Last week, when trying to install new INFs for
Windows on Pentium-4/i850 board, I had a pop-up
window saying:

"The IntelInstall program has performed illegal
operation... invalid page fault..."

I guess it must be certainly a software error,
right? Or the hardware was only "slightly unstable?"

Soon to be Six-Figure-Hector's rented digs.

Unless he goes the way of Richard Previte, John East, and Atiq Raza.
