I think that is why the Turks made this "alliance" with Israel. Both states are extremely secular (despite the orthodox Jews), and both are facing problems with Islamic Fundamentalism.

Thus Israel gains access to flying ranges in Turkey where they can practice long-range bombing mission (Baghdad or even Tehran), while Turkey gain assistance with intelligence on Iran's support of fundamentalist groups in Turkey.
