You are comparing two very different issues. Assuming AMD only uses the new thermal monitor in Palominos to prevent catastrophic failures due to for example heat sink and/or fan related issues (we will have to wait and see on this), then it is not the same as clock throttling running normal real word applications in a system which includes a properly designed and maintained conventional low cost thermal solution. You know this and yet you persist to equate the two very different issues. Actually, I think you are the one that is the fraud.

Nonsense on all counts.

First off, the issue is not Athlon4s but persistent reports of regular Athlons crashing under load. If you had any integrity you would be more concerned about fatal crashes than simply alleged throttling. No integrity, no concern.

Second, you have no evidence or even published claims of P4 throttling under normal loading. The option of reducing the thermal design for cost reasons is exactly what Intel says it's there for and even though you have no evidence of this ever happening, if it did, the questions should be directed to the system designer because they are the ones who chose to make this tradeoff, not Intel.

So you are conspicoulsy silent on persistent claims of Athlon crashes while falsely claiming P4 thermal throttling under normal loading when no one that I know of has ever made this claim. In fact, except for paid AMD hacks, no one has claimed P4 throttling even under extreme loading.

Athlons crash while P4s keep running and the WATSONCRYBABY wets his pants.

Fraud.
