I liked the Daytona Beach area a lot when I worked down there for a few months in 1990. Of course those were winter months, but I do think relative to further south and west, the weather there is much less overbearing.

JDN,

Raw land in some areas close to Ocala, may be a bargain, but I have built a couple of houses, and don't want to go through the headache of doing another. I do have a plan, in my head, for a house without any wood in it, but it would not be worth arguing with the contractors to get it built.

Where are you from, originally?? I hear Tampa people saying how hot it is getting but, since most of my life was spent around Houston, TX with 105 degree days, and 95% humidity, this place is a walk in the park.

My wife and I met Ish and his wife at Wakulla springs in late March, and it was cold as ice to me, and there comes Ish walking along in shorts!!! I guess it all depends on what one is used to.
